Central Election Commission: Voter turnout at 9.55% as at 11 a.m.

Voter turnout as at 11 am was 9.55%, the Central Election Commission (CEC) announced at a briefing on October 27. This is more than 1% higher turnout compared to the data as at 11:00 on June 9 this year, when the previous early parliamentary elections were held.

The highest turnout was in Montana - 14.44 per cent and the lowest in Varna - 5.25 per cent.

Election day started normally across the country and abroad. All polling stations are open, all polling stations are working, said Rositsa Mateva, deputy chair and spokesperson of CEC.

Both in the country and abroad, many members of sectorial election commissions did not turn-up on polling day. In the country, they have been replaced by reserve members, while abroad the CEC is yet to decide on filling the seats.

As at 11:40 machine voting has been halted in 46 polling stations, most of them in Haskovo.
