Flu epidmic will not be declared in Sofia city
No influenza epidemic will be declared in Sofia city for the time being. The number of cases is declining across the country, including in the capital, Health Minister Hristo Hinkov said on February 5.

"We have data that there is a decrease in the number of flu cases. There will be no flu epidemic for Sofia-city. As regards Sofia district, the data still show high incidence. It depends on the Ministry of Education whether schools will temporarily cancel classes or whether they would switch to distance learning. In general, there is data that the flu activity has reached its peak and is now slowing down," said Minister Hinkov.

School classes cancellation and online learning remain in place in some districts of the country after the inter-term break, which is today - 5 February.
In Plovdiv district, students will be on “flu break “until February 7 without online learning. This also applies to students in Veliko Tarnovo region.
Burgas is to decide whether the schools will continue with cancellation of classes after 6 February.
There are also districts where students will study online.
In Yambol district, online learning will be in effect until 6 February including, in Sofia district: until 7 February and in Pernik district - until 9 February.
In Varna, it is being decided today whether online learning will continue.
Dobrich is in a flu epidemic, but so far there is no decision on a “flu break” or distance learning.
