Government survived a second vote of no confidence
Parliament rejected the vote of no confidence in the cabinet, submitted on November 8 of BSP for Bulgaria, “Vazrazhdane” and “There is Such a People”, because of "the failure of the Council of Ministers in the field of national security and defence".
With 71 votes in favour and 155 against, the vote of no confidence was rejected. There were no abstentions. There were 203 registered MPs in the Chamber.
The motion had to be voted last week. However, a series of procedural snags and a lack of quorum postponed the vote.
Parliament will make a third attempt to vote on the no-confidence motion on Wednesday
Lack of quorum: MPs failed to decide on the vote of no confidence
The first vote of no confidence in the Denkov cabinet over problems in the energy sector was rejected in mid-October.
