The 38-year-old man who brutally beat his wife in Vratsa remains in custody, the District Court ruled on June 5. "It's about infidelity," the 38-year-old man accused of violence against his wife commented. According to his relatives, the woman issued the restraining orders because of her profession.

Ivka Assenova - sister of the perpetrator: 'They got married on March 23, we were against marrying Anelia because of her profession, she is a paid dancer. Even if he did beat her it is not right. But I don't think there was a six-hour beating. This is the second time Anelia issued a restraining order, when the paid season starts, she gets restraining orders issued against him."

Tsvetana Mladenova - mother of the perpetrator: "I am not sure that she was beaten for 6 hours, can you imagine a man beating a small woman for six hours, is it likely that she would survive?"
