Only former Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev came to the hearing of the ad hoc committee of inquiry into the Martin Bozhanov "The Notary" case
New meeting of the Parliament’s ad hoc committee of inquiry into the facts and circumstances surrounding the activity of Martin Bozhanov “The Notary", who was killed in January.
The MPs have invited for a hearing the acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov and his two predecessors Ivan Geshev and Sotir Tsatsarov.
Only former Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev came to the meeting on April 16.
The only reason I am here today is that I have respect for the state institutions, even though all that is left of the institution of the National Assembly is the building, former Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev said before his hearing in the ad-hoc committee.
Asked if he knew Martin Bozhanov, Geshev said "no, I don't".
Geshev said that while he was Deputy Prosecutor General at the Specialised Prosecutor’s Office in 2018, there was a case about a fraud group that concerned Martin Bozhanov. While I was chief prosecutor, a case was opened for Petyo Petrov, known as “The Euro”, who is currently in hiding, he added.

Sarafov and Tsatsarov did not show up at the previous meeting of the committee to which they were invited. It became clear that they had sent letters refusing the invitation to be heard. Ivan Geshev had informed the committee that he was not in the country and was ready to appear after 10 April.
